Siddha Songs Sabbatical

As mentioned below, time for a re-think of the usefulness and purpose of this site and the usefulness and purpose of uploading my talks when I have no idea who the users of this site are at all! So Siddha Songs is on sabbatical for further contemplation and review.

Hope to meet some of you personally this summer though, in the USA (and beyond), and feel free to be in contact if you wish. If there was some audio on this site that you would like a copy of please be in touch and let me know.

(And the Body of Beatitude site will hopefully fill out soon when I have more time to concentrate on artistic practice!)

Changes

Definitely learning a lot right now!

So in the wake of big life lessons I thought Siddha Songs could also undergo an overhaul.

Although this site has between 1,000-1,800 unique visitors a month, I have no idea who you are! It feels like a bit of a disconnect… So rather than just blindly continuing this strange internet relationship, I am re-thinking, among other things, the purpose of this site, the usefulness of uploading my talks and the benefits of closer personal friendships on the journey.

There are many great teachers who have a great many audio and video teachings available online though, and I encourage a wide range of study of these resources for a wider perspective about one’s own practice.

Speaking of which, although I didn’t study at Diamond Mountain, myself and many other friends are working through recent controversies. I send thanks to my friend Dr. Miles Neale, and many other mentors-on-the-ground, for helping the community through tough times – good to learn about “spiritual bypassing” and other misunderstandings on the journey. You can listen to the video below.

Don’t feel afraid or embarrassed to speak to other people: peers within and outside of your own community, mentors of all sorts, and family and friends who have known you for years. Insularity and fear will only bring more confusion.

Your personal journey is about your own personal direct experience, so don’t be afraid of what you are feeling. All of these difficulties can help us learn and grow and become much more compassionate, humble and open-minded… and more human. Doesn’t that sound nice?
